Event: ART X exhibition 2017

Hello friends..........how have you been and I hope your week is going great?! I am so glad I finally get to post about my experience at ART X exhibition 2017 which took place at the civic center, Victoria island lagos between 3rd - 5th November. I attended the last exhibition that took place on the 5th and my first stop was the colouring bus which was placed out, I left my mark on the bus by signing my signature.  My next stop was the ground floor (indoor) where I took pictures at the ART X backdrop, from there I proceeded to the first level where artworks were displayed.  Lemi Ghariokwu's iconic record sleeves designed for flea kuti and the Ghana pesewa coins artwork by Yaw Owusu were both intriguing and breathtaking respectively.

So fast forward I found myself at Rom Isichei booth where his art installation focused more on the 21st century norm " SELFIE" and I decided to enact the artwork. 

   
Also I checked out Polly Alakija's booth, am sure most of you must have seen the art designs
made on  falomo bridge......well she's the artist and I was awed by her simplicity when I met her.

I also saw art works by other artists that were intriguing and some of the art pieces were hard to decipher. Some were made from recycled products, wool, bathroom slippers and so on. My outfit was casual and chic while artistic at the same time. The event gave room for networking as I made new friends and guess who I met???? Celebrity and creative photographer Kelechi Amadi Obi and I had a lovely conversation with him ( still basking in that experience)









Overall, it was a nice event and sure enough I would be

attending next year edition with one of you guys.

    Really interesting coverage of the exhibition, you make me wish I had been there. It's never too late though, who knows if we'd get to go together next year.

What better way to enjoy the weekend than to go to a cookout party with fellow bloggers, networking, cooking and having the best afternoon. The cookout was hosted by  pulse.ng  ,  samanthasbistro  and  gourmet burger bar  . We were about 15 bloggers invited to this cookout party and we had chef dumebi (founder and  chief chef of samanthas bistro) and chef James to take us through the process of making our own burgers. So I got to the venue of the cookout party   ( samanthas bistro ) late and I met everyone playing a game called the burger twister, it's a game played in pairs ( a pair of 2 people ) and the result of the game decides the ingredients you get to use in making your own burger ( yes we all were going to make our burgers ourselves) .  I got paired with chef James and it was just hilarious  ( I wish I have a picture to show that part). My Lagos Waka || A tour of Lekki Arts Market and Nike Art Gallery ( Tips, Hacks and market finds)

Touring the Lekki Arts and Crafts  Market I finally got around organizing my first (group) tour  of the tour series called THE LAGOS WAKA  and on my tour list , the lekki arts and craft market was the first but i decided to add Nike Art Gallery ( I have been there thrice ) on this tour since it was on the same axis  as the art and Crafts Market.  The funny thing about this trip was that just like the normal African fashion, 5 people indicated interest in going on this tour and on the day of the tour trip only Royalbiba of     www.royalbiba.com    showed up while others came up with excuses. EVENT || CREATIVITY AT SAO AND THE MUSE 3

Recently I attended the Sao and the muse 3 event and all i can say is i was awed by the level of creativity showcased by young Nigerian artists who spend time in their own unique ways , creating art in it's many forms. Sao and the muse is an annual art event , a creative's haven with diverse medium and bodies of work . The event is currently in it's third year, and it was held from August 3 - 5th , at  Sao cafe, Lagos. It was my first time attending and I would say it's different from other art exhibitions I have been to. There was a relaxed atmosphere enabling guests not to only see art but engage with it. This year exhibition themed "Collaboration Era"  explores the power of artists eith diverse mediums coming together to create out of the box art,  and below are the exhibiting artists and their installations for this year's Sao and the muse.
